Here is what some students and staff stated in their nominations:
“One of the skill sets that I admire about Ashley the most is her ability to see the broader range of possibilities for every individual, to then help them map out the possibilities for their own life, and give them the appropriate resources and tools to help them achieve what they want. She is able to see the strengths of every student she works with.” – Vivian Nguyen
“Ashley creates an environment where students can thrive because of her warm and optimistic demeanor, accepting and inclusive approach to students, and passion and love for helping others succeed” – Riley Greenwood
“Ashley’s dedication and her tireless efforts as an academic advisor have pushed first-generation students like myself towards obtaining a college education. My success is testimony to her support.” – Angeliki Neofitos
“Ashley was able to help me work on my essays for scholarships. Ever since I began working with her, I got much better at writing, since English is my third language. My writing abilities drastically improved because she would help me understand how to build better sentences and essays in general. This is what I like about Ashley, she approaches advising as teaching and I always leave with new useful information.” –Vlada Yaramenko
“Ashley embodies the importance of cross-campus collaboration. She is not focused merely on the success, growth, or praise of her own department; but rather she is entirely dedicated to helping students achieve their educational and career goals, regardless of which department provides that opportunity. This is why I love working with Ashley so much” – Anna Solomon-Edelman
“She has acted as my advocate, no matter the situation. As a rule, rather than an exception, she has followed up after every appointment with additional information she has researched on my behalf. For instance, upon discussing my thesis project with her this past fall, she provided me a list of professors and members of the community she knew personally that I could contact to complete my research… Most importantly, she remembers me personally, as a unique student with special needs and goals.” – Alexandria Redd
Congratulations to a talented and deserving advisor! Keep up the excellent work, Ashley!
