Congratulations to Puneet Singh for receiving the Asian Studies 2020 Student of the Year award!

"Both within and outside the classroom, Puneet Singh stands out as a dynamic speaker and critical thinker. He has engaged in many meaningful experiences to enrich his undergraduate studies, such as the learning abroad program Mandarin Chinese in China, the Punjabi learning abroad program in India (for which he received the Critical Languages Scholarship), and the Yale Hindi Debate Conference. In these and other opportunities he has pursued, Puneet has demonstrated a passion to learn, to challenge himself, and to develop deep global and historical knowledge. Puneet has also performed extensive service to the University of Utah campus community. Puneet has served as Associate Director of ASUU’s Diversity Board, and as Vice President for the Asian American Student Association. In these roles he has been a strong advocate for students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, and he has propelled important community conversations about race, ethnicity, and the need for change on our campus. Without a doubt, our college and campus community have been greatly enriched through Puneet’s academics and service."

Check out this amazing page that they also created for our graduates in honoring their accomplishments and awards within the College of Humanities here!
