The Western Conference of the Association for Asian Studies (WCAAS) and the Southwest Conference of the Association for Asian Studies (SWCAS)
WCAAS and SWCAS will hold a joint regional meeting September 20-22, 2007 at the University Guesthuse and Fort Douglas Conference Center at the University of Utah.
We invite proposals for panels, individual papers, and roundtables from any discipline on any topic concerning South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia. Panels and topics that cross regions or disciplines are encouraged. We welcome graduate student participants and some funds will be available to offset the cost of travel for graduate students.
Proposals are due June 1, 2007. Proposal forms will be available on-line soon.
Participants should pre-register by August 1, 2007. Registration is available on-line at: https://www.utah.edu/conferences/wcaas.html.
The Fort Douglas Conference Center is located on the campus of the University of Utah in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, twenty minutes drive from the Salt Lake International Airport.
The Asian Studies Program at the University of Utah will be the local host for the 2007 Annual Meeting. For more information, contact the conference Chair, Janet Theiss or the Conference Secretary, Amanda Biesinger at AsianStudies@utah.edu.
